Dr Kate Lindsey Kalmpets leader and founder, veterinarian, animal behaviourist, and zoologist Dr Kate Lindsey brings a complementary skill set to the centre. She is passionate about making every day count for our non-human companions.Perth vet, Dr Kate Lindsey completed a first class honours degree in zoology and neuroscience at UWA, followed by a veterinary degree with first class honours, at Murdoch.

Since graduating in 2005, Dr Kate has worked as a vet in small animal practices around Perth. As her zoological roots show, she has always had an interest in animal behaviour.

Dr Kate successfully completed a post-graduate program in veterinary behaviour medicine and was admitted as a member of The Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists by examination in Animal Behaviour in 2012. She is a qualified veterinary behaviourist. Dr Kate established Kalmpets in 2012, Western Australia’s only sole focus mobile vet behaviour practice that delivered comprehensive solutions to improve behaviour problems in dogs, cats and pets.

In her quest to create calm for all, Dr Kate established an animal behaviour centre in 2015 in Balcatta, Perth. Kalmpets offers in-clinic behaviour consultations, 100% positive dog training, the exclusive Kalmpets Specialist Pup Program, where pups receive intensive individual training and are socialised in a safe and controlled environment at Kalmpets Dog Day Care – a 40 place dog day care facility that is leading the way in everyday dog care in Perth. Kalmpets Dog Day Care features the Kalmpets Curriculum, written by Dr Kate to optimise behavioural outcomes of dogs who attend. A new enrichment theme is programmed each month with a monthly dog training goal.

Dr Kate also gives talks and seminars to dog trainers and dog owners and regularly contributes articles on dog behaviour, cat problems and other pet related issues to The West Australian (Habitat). She is fast becoming Perth’s leading veterinary expert in dog, cat and pet behaviour.
